Sadly the mighty Mothboy has now gone forever! His last release was the Yield EP, and make the most of it because there will be no more! We don't have to feel too depressed however as in the place of Mothboy is Esjeyes, rising pheonix-like from the ashes to carve out a new direction of house influenced beats. Keep your eyes peeled for this, the initial signs are nothing short of epic!

London-based producer Mothboy A.K.A. Simon Smerdon has never been constrained by ideas of genre and has consistently pushed the limits of many types of bass music during a career that has spanned over a decade.

His most famous works, including the 2010 LP 'Bunny', have been released by massive German electronic label Ad Noiseam, and have garnered him critical acclaim for his left-of-centre beats, heavy bass stabs and beautifully ethereal atmospherics.

Mothboy has also released various tunes and remixes via Acroplane Recordings, Disco_r.dance, Some Bizzarre, Peace Off, n5MD and Hymen, and has worked with Mick Harris of Napalm Death, as well as many others, including Akira The Don, Detritus, Kes Evergreen and a host of others.

We are extremely proud to have been a part of the Mothboy legacy, even if it was the closing chapter. Not that the end of Mothboy is anything to do with us you understand...
